Please check out http://wishlisting.com/ . We created it to solve the problem you're describing. More features on the way (including some of the ones you mentioned). Please let us know what you think!

Having taken a lot of these services for a spin over the last few weeks (apparently there's a ton of them) - my favorite is http://www.thisnext.com/

A very well executed social wishlist concept, well designed, easy to use, and complete with widgets, just like I had hoped for.

I've been working on a site like this, after using Yahoo! Groups to share gift ideas with family for the last few years -- and just hating the UI every step of the way.

The site's called Giftie Giftie -- http://www.giftiegiftie.com/. We're still working on some stuff (including fleshing out the social angle). Comments and ideas are welcome.

GreedyMe just carries too negative a connotation - not very good for branding or making people feel good about using your site.

I think proper execution would be key for a service like this. Would have to feature ways to spread the message virally.
