One Thousand Paintings

Friday I received my very own painting from the onethousandpaintings.com project. I purchased it a few months ago and it finally arrived. To me, this is a great collector’s piece and a small fragmet of Internet history or “old Internet lore” as I’m sure we’ll all call it in a few years.

The number holds a certain significance, but I’ll keep that private. The painting itself is very well done and now adorns the wall above my desk. The project is a rather fascinating blend of art, economics, internet hype, mathematics, and scarcity theory (I’ll pretend such a theory exists). Seems the 700’s are quite popular in this project.

Nice number, dorkman. I should fly down there right now and smack you in the face. Its fun to read your post out loud in a snooty Nox Herringtonesque voice, “its a rather fascinating blend of art, economics…”, blah blah blah. What is the significance? Is that your best Dundgeons and Dragons score?

No, it’s the number of bags you have to sell to make a dollar in profit off bagovino.com

You’re missing a few zeroes then.

Did you also hear about http://www.doyouhaveaminute.ch? There you can get your own minute as a papercut. What do you think, would you also find a relation between a time and a experience?

what a s**t you are doing to buy s**t like this.
oh my god, i will never understand how stupid one can be !

The better idea would be to show fotos of poor african children and you
can choose to buy a face like this and the money gets to the face you bought.
That would be a Project !

But what you have bought is money for NO CONCEPT, nothing !!!
Meaning you bought art and now you are a part of art, oh man how stupid !
Thats exactly the problem of our society, mass people buying for a mass hype, nothing more. And never think about what the author of this work thought. Oh man, oh no !!!
Do you truly mean you are all little Warhols ? oh my god.
