The personal nature of the domains and keywords makes this a very strong brand if chosen along with a good keyword. I think in the future the public will start to understan that there are alternate brands out there. At cashloan.me we are working towards a personal lending company with a customer service image.

Personally I am looking at .me simply because the .com, .net and other popular suffix for the domain name I want to use have already been taken.

I also not interested in any domain name speculation, I just want to use my preferred domain name.

.me is nice and short but it will be a very, very long time until people are actually used to seeing a .me domain (or never).

I agree with you. I can’t say that I’d see as much value in business.me as I would in businessman.me. It’s weird to say that but it’s true. I think people will (if they haven’t already) really start connecting dotME with a more personalized type of website.

I only own one dotME domain, but it’s brandon.me. I’m still waiting for the auction details to be ironed out, but once I have control, I plan to develop it into a personal blog/business site.

I personally hope that their value remains low so that normal people like myself can get some very brandable and recognizable names for cheap and make fun websites like you could at the dawn of the internet. Everyday peeps! register .me domains and make fun websites before domainers start making it harder by sitting on them! Their are tons of great ones left!

I think most of the the .ME is is really in the “ME” If it pertains to a “you, an I, or a me” then it applicable. For example, pokerplayer.me (IMHO) is more relevant than holdem.me or poker.me. Better yet, gambler.me (once again IMHO) has more brandability and value than gambling.me ever could. I find this interesting because if your keyword is relevant to a person, hobbyist, or profession, etc, etc, then your .me is brandable and makes complete sense. People relate to what they do as a “this is what I am,” e.g. “ME.”

If .me is to have any intristic value it will be in the community website niche. I personally own sportsbettor.me and plan on development for a site for sports bettors.

If you own a .ME then I encourage you to do one thing and one thing only and that is dev’ing it. This is not a trading extention. If people can develop their .me domains and get them “out on the net.” The ext becomes more common web wide.
