Do it. It sounds like a very good idea.
You could have another advantage if you add support for different languages.
Something like a Filter.

So you could cover German,French and English. If someone only wants English messages, he should check ohnly English. Others check additional or other langs. When you post a message, you simply check which language the message is, or even add a automatic recognition.
